Quarterly HPV Vaccination
Learning Collaborative
The HPV Vaccination Learning Collaborative is coordinated by the Engaging Health Systems and Providers Workgroup of the California HPV Vaccination Roundtable. The collaborative creates opportunities to build and exchange knowledge to increase HPV vaccination rates among California’s diverse patient population. This quarterly virtual lunchtime learning opportunity provides a forum to discuss successes and challenges, disseminate evidence-based interventions, and network with your peers. The collaborative format features a teaching topic presented by HPV vaccination experts, updates from the field, and an open forum for sharing best practices, challenges, and announcements.
Targeted audience: Health care providers, Clinic support staff, QI team, Health educators, Health care administrators, and others interested in increasing HPV vaccination rates
We encourage and invite participants to share any efforts at their organization to improve HPV vaccination rates during each session. If you would like to present your work so that others may learn from and/or have a specific question for discussion during a session, please send an email to info@cahpvroundtable.org.

Michael earned his bachelor's degree in business and information systems, and a Master of Science degree in computer since with an emphasis on database development and administration.

This session will focus on HPV vaccination initiation at age 9 years, as well as how a specific health system handles vaccine refusal and other challenges related to HPV vaccination. Our presenter is Alyson Kaye, CNP from Vista Community Clinic. Alyson has been a certified pediatric nurse practitioner for more than 13 years and is currently the Assistant Director for Pediatrics as well as the Nurse Practitioner Float Supervisor at Vista Community Clinic. She has been involved in many quality improvement projects focused on adolescent vaccines and has been an “HPV Vaccine Champion” for more than 5 years.

Topics covered include the impact of HPV, vaccination against HPV, and the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic on vaccination. A discussion of the goals of the collaborative as well as future topics were also included in this first session.
